Lot 40
Tax records indicate that George Burkhart built a house valued at $150 in 1847 but by 1850, when the property was owned by John Greiner, the value was significantly reduced, indicating that the house had been removed. In 1849, John Greiner owned Lot 44. It is possible that this was a log house that was moved to Lot 44 and still exists in 2008.
Between c1855 and c1885 the property was owned by the Lutheran Church with no tax value recorded. In 1885 the property owner was listed as the Lutheran Church Parsonage and beginning in 1885 the tax value was $300. The parsonage building could have been built at this time or it could be the tax assessment method was changed.
