Lot 41
Tax records indicate that John Griener built a structure ($122) on this Lot in 1847. By 1855, when owned by Joseph Bachman, the value had increased to $235, suggesting an improvement or replacement. From about 1890 to about 1915, the property was owned by the German Lutheran Church and the small house shown to the left in the photo was probably used as a Church School. About 1920 Lot 41 was purchased by A. C. (Albert) Egger and H. C. (Homer?) Egger who built a house on the adjacent Lot 42 and, at some point removed the Greiner building. Material for this house was taken from a house in Monroefield that was torn down.
Oral History
Amanda Meusch taught school (probably Church School) in Miltonsburg in about 1904/5.
