Tax records indicate that a house ($225) was built on Lot 27 about 1855, probably by Lewis Clipner. The value of the lot increased to $319 by 1870 when it was owned by Christian Gromlich. This house was torn down around 2000.

Clarence (Clem) Spangler was a brother of Joe Spangler, who operated the store on Lot 5.
